Our Story: DhalanGhar Agro Resort
A Name, A Legacy: DhalanGhar Agro Resort is more than just a getaway—it is a living symbol of local history, family heritage, and authentic flavors rooted in Sunkhani, Shivapuri-7, Nuwakot.
Origin 1996 AD (B.S. 2053): The Guni family constructed the very first concrete (Dhalan) house in this entire region. The landmark became so iconic that the local area eventually came to be known as 'DhalanGhar'.
The Early Hub: In its initial years, the building housed the Guni family's wholesale shop alongside Rit Bahadur Gurung's local eatery, making it the primary commercial and social gathering spot for the community.
Resilience Through Change (2000–2001 / B.S. 2057–58): Amidst the national political conflicts of that era, the business adapted, and the wholesale space was rented out while keeping the spirit of the space alive.
Foundations of Hospitality (2012 / B.S. 2065): Expanding with time, an upper floor was added, launching "Sunkhani Village Rest Camp & Nepali Bhancha Ghar", which laid the groundwork for authentic local food.
A New Era (2018 / B.S. 2075 – Present): Embracing its rich heritage, the property officially transformed into "DhalanGhar Agro Resort". Today, DhalanGhar Agro Resort blends local tradition, organic farming, and modern comfort amidst the serene backdrop of Shivapuri. We invite you to experience our hospitality and become a part of our continuing story.
